How long have you been a member of AAF
Omaha? 2 years
-
Why did you join AAF Omaha? To meet single advertisers who liked long, moonlit
walks on Madison Avenue. No really, to be apart and support
Nebraska's great advertising community.
-
If you could have a super power, what would
you pick? Mind Reader.
That's a no-brainer in advertising! If a song were to describe you, what song would it
be? It's a song from 1989
by Billy Joel called "I Go To Extremes".
What time is your most productive
part of the day? It's a tie between
7 to 10am and 9:15 P.M. on March 8th every year...
If you could live anywhere in the
world, where would you live? Near
the people I love. Now if the "people I love" lived in the
Virgin Islands, I wouldn't complain about it.
What is the first thing you think of
when you wake up in the morning? Al
Roker and Matt Lauer
What do you like most about your job?
The variety! One day I'll be
writing a jingle for a national food company and the next I'm
recording voiceovers for a MTV reality show. It's never
boring.
What are some of the different jobs
that you have had in your life? At
17-years-old, I was the Music Director/Pianist for "The Platters"
featuring original member Paul Robi. I once played piano for Tiny
Tim. When I was 13, I had a job peeling potatoes for a
catering company to make extra money and I once played for
President Reagan's........picture!
You can't leave home
without? My Google phone. LOVE
IT!

AAF Omaha Holiday Party "Making Spirits
Bright"

The 2010 AAF Omaha Holiday Luncheon was a great
success this year. Due to the weather conditions AAF Omaha's
"Making Spirits Bright" Holiday Luncheon was rescheduled and
held January 12th. The sun was shining and spirits were
definitely bright this year as members listened to a personal story
from Judy Cullen, a Group Home Member for DVCC and Karen Hadley,
DVCC's Executive Director. Judy shared her st ory of domestic violence as she watched her mother
endure physical, emotional and verbal abuse for 50 years!
Karen shared the background of the DVCC as well as the plans for a
Family Justice Center to open in March 2010. Ad Night and
Holiday Party Committee Members, Ashlee Purcell, Amanda
Peterson, Stephanie Mannino and Nikki Huffman all worked very hard
to put this luncheon together. Members of AAF Omaha and guests
had an opportunity to win various raffle prizes and one lucky lady
walked away with the 14K Sapphire and Diamond Pendant donated from
Borsheims. All had there share of food, fun and
entertainment!
The DVCC is the only organization in Douglas
County that brings people together to end domestic violence, making
our community a safer place to live. They advocate for system
change through education and training and by partnering with
agencies that make victims safer and hold offenders
accountable.

Day of Event Registration With an
AAF Omaha student membership - $125 Without a student membership

Why is a Membership Encouraged?
With the pricing increase and the state of the economy, I'm sure
the new pricing structure came with a little sticker shock. Our
intention in packaging a student membership along with the Meet the
Pros registration is to emphasis the importance of networking and
staying aware of industry happenings especially in this instable
economy. This is a scary time for our industry. Having a student
membership is an important first step for students to be proactive
in their advertising future. Students can take advantage of a lower
price in attending Meet the Pros and they can also open the door to
other opportunities such as educational luncheons, networking
opportunities, scholarship information and job/internship postings.
These experiences are invaluable as a newcomer to the industry
scene.
Most Important Message of All We
can remember what it was like being a cash-strapped college student
hoping to break into the industry and make a name for ourselves. Our
overall goal is to keep students actively engaged in advertising and
set them up for a positive, educational experience as cost
effectively as possible. Meet the Pros is fantastic opportunity to
give students one-on-one face time with professionals. Click here to register
