POSITION PURPOSE:
Develops message and concept for various Marketing and Public Relations initiatives. Writes and edits multiple internal and external pieces designed for our end consumers, including the Field Force, Fraternal Division, Human Resources Division, members, prospective members and Home Office associates. Variety includes but is not limited to sales collateral, advertisements, direct mail letters, web copy, broadcast scripts, magazine articles, reports, and training materials.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Concept, research and write copy for initiative and strategy-based projects, as well as various PR, Advertising, Training and Communication initiatives (i.e. write publication articles, sales brochures, marketing guides, various advertisements, letters, postcards, client presentations, scripts, web copy, e-mails, etc.)
- Proofread and revise materials to ensure that material is legally compliant and error-free.
- Support Branding Department (Managers and support staff) in implementing projects and programs.
- Serve as liaison to assigned division or department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or Communications or equivalent work experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of five years experience in various disciplines of writing.
- Experience in writing for publications preferred.
- Experience in internal communications a plus.
- Experience in writing for the web and e-mail marketing efforts preferred.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and clearly communicate information to others.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Self-motivated with positive attitude.
- Ability to work with a high level of concentration and attention to detail.
- Ability to organize and prioritize several concurrent projects in order to effectively meet deadlines.
- Ability to independently develop concepts and themes and write creatively.
- Ability to participate as part of a team and work well with various constituencies.
- Excellent computing skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office, and Lotus Notes preferred.
- Ability to work with outside organizations and actively participate on different community committees.
