You may be wondering whether you should be using blogs as a communications tool for your own company or your clients. Or if blogs are a good place to allocate some of your marketing budget next year. Or you may just want to figure out how to participate in and listen to the blogosphere without wasting time. Whatever your interest, get a look at the impact of blogs on communications and an overview of how and why to get involved yourself.
A marketing executive with 17 years of experience in Silicon Valley, Elisa Camahort co-founded BlogHer in Palo Alto, California, in early 2005, which has since successfully launched a Web community, advertising network and multiple events targeted for women bloggers. Now, BlogHer is the number one guide to women bloggers on the Web. A pioneer of professional and business blogging, Elisa currently contributes to many blogs for herself and clients. She has been published numerous times, has a regular column in the Metro Silicon Valley, speaks at events around the country and is on the advisory board of The Society for New Communications research and the Women 2.0 oral history project.
