Meet The Pros 2008
Monday and Tuesday, February 11 & 12, 2008
Meet the Pros is an annual conference sponsored by the Omaha Federation of Advertising. This annual event is designed to give college students in a five-state area and beyond the opportunity to explore careers in the advertising industry. Meet the Pros creates opportunities for student to make professional contacts at the event and offers in-person direction in academic studies, work options and extracurricular activities that will assist students in achieving their career objectives.

Scholarship Program
The Omaha Federation of Advertising proudly supports area college students pursuing careers in advertising, marketing and communications. To help them meet their goal and help us build future leaders for our club OFA offers several scholarship awards:
OFA Scholarship Funds
The Omaha Federation of Advertising has endowment scholarship funds with the University of Nebraska Foundation and the Creighton University Foundation.
Up to eight $1,000 scholarships are available to students at:
- University of Nebraska - Lincoln
- University of Nebraska at Omaha
- University of Nebraska at Kearney
- Creighton University
Students seeking to apply must meet the following criteria:
- Completed the first semester of their junior year and are advertising majors
- Have at least a 3.0 grade point average and are currently enrolled in at least 12 credit hours
- Are members of a student advertising club or an American Advertising Federation chapter
- Attended the Omaha Federation of Advertising’s Meet the Pros 2007 educational seminar
- Show great interest in the field of advertising as shown by student ad club involvement, extracurricular activities, work history, internships, etc.
Bozell Scholarship Fund
Bozell, an employee-owned advertising and public relations agency, is proud to support local advertising students through a scholarship fund administered by the Omaha Federation of Advertising. One $1,000 scholarship is available to students enrolled at:
- The Creative Center
Metropolitan Community College
Vatterott College

Students seeking to apply must meet the following criteria:
- Completed their first semester as an advertising/design major
- Have at least a 3.0 grade point average and are currently enrolled as a full-time student according to their institution’s guidelines
- Are members of a student advertising club or an American Advertising Federation chapter
- Attended the Omaha Federation of Advertising’s Meet the Pros educational seminar
- Show great interest in the field of advertising as shown by student ad club involvement, extracurricular activities, work history, internships, etc.

To Apply for the OFA/Bozell Scholarships
Your application for the 2007-2008 Omaha Federation of Advertising Scholarships and the Bozell Scholarship should consist of the following:
1. A letter, addressed to the Omaha Federation of Advertising Board of Directors, explaining the following:
- The school you are currently attending and your current G.P.A. status
- The experience you have that makes you a candidate for this scholarship (involvement in a student ad club, OFA student member, attended Meet The Pros, etc.)
- Any other relevant experience you feel makes you the best candidate for the scholarship (work history, internship activity, extracurricular activities, etc.)
2. A copy of your current resume that outlines your work history and advertising involvement.

When awarded, scholarships are applied against the student’s tuition as outlined in the agreement between the scholarship fund administrator and the Omaha Federation of Advertising.
NSAC 2008 Challenge: AOL

AAF’s National Student Advertising Competition is the premier college advertising competition. It provides more than 3,000 college students with real-world experience by requiring a strategic advertising/marketing/media campaign for a corporate sponsor. Schools from each district are selected to present their campaigns to a panel of industry executives at the AAF National Conference.
The local NSAC competition is one of the highlights at the annual 9th District Competition. This year, nine area university groups will be participating at the district level:
- Creighton University
- Drake University
- Drury University
- University of Nebraska – Lincoln
- Southwest Missouri State University
- St. Louis University
- Washburn University
- Webster University
- Wichita State University
The winning team will present their campaign at the National AAF Conference in Atlanta, GA! Good luck to all teams!
